This opera is considered to be one of the best, possibly the best of Verdi’s operas, a romantic drama filled with strong feelings and romantic emotions, contrast, intrigue, revenge, poison and fatal secrets.  This opera was adapted from the so-called play by a Spanish talented playwright of XIX century Antonio García Gutiérrez. 

Spain, XV century…Romantic drama that includes the tragic fate of the main characters: of the troubadour Manrico, his beloved, Leonora, his mother Azucena, his rival the Count di Luna, and the colorful images of gypsies, monks, soldiers and courtiers . This opera is full of famous arias and well-known choruses.
